SECTION V: FIRE AND EXPLOSION DATA


Flash Point: Not Applicable.
Means of Extinguishing: Non-combustible, however, for dry solids, use of water, foam, carbon dioxide, or dry chemical fire fighting apparatus.  

Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: Closed containers exposed to extreme heat may rupture due to pressure build-up. Contents may spatter if temperature exceeds boiling point (212° F). Dried films are capable of burning.

Special Fire Fighting Procedures: The use of self-contained breathing apparatus is recommended for fire fighters. Water may be useful in keeping fire exposed containers cool.

 

SECTION VI: HEALTH HAZARD DATA


Threshold Limit Value: Not established.

Effects of Over Exposure (For Product):

Eyes: Trace amounts of ammonia and residue monomer vapors may be irritating to the eyes,

especially in poorly ventilated areas.

Skin: This product can cause skin irritation upon prolonged or repeated contact.

Breathing: Adverse health effects from vapors or spray mists in poorly ventilated areas may

include irritation of the mucous membranes of the nose, throat, respiratory tract andsystems

of  headache and nausea..

Swallowing: Can cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Emergency and First Aid Procedures:

If in Eyes: If this product comes in contact with eyes, flush with large quantities of

water for at least 15 minutes lifting upper and lower lid occasionally. Seek medical

attention.

If on Skin: Thoroughly wash exposed area with soap and large quantities of water for

at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before use. Seek medical

attention if irritation from contact persists.

If Breathed: Individual may experience dizziness, or light-headedness when working in poorly

ventilated areas. Seek air free from vapors.

If Swallowed: If victim is conscious, induce vomiting at once by giving two glasses of water

to drink and place finger back of victim's throat. Call physician immediately. 

 

SECTION VII: REACTIVITY DATA


Stability: Stable.

Incompatibility: No hazardous reactions are expected to occur under normal usage conditions. However, product properties may be altered by mixing some materials.

Hazardous Decomposition: Thermal decomposition may yield oxides of carbon, toxic monomer fumes and oxides of

Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur.

 

SECTION VIII: SPILL AND LEAK PROCEDURES


Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled:

Keep unnecessary people away. Flush spilled material into suitable retaining area containers with large quantities of water. Small amounts of spilled material may be absorbed into appropriate absorbent. Prevent spilled mixture from entering sewers, storm drains, other unauthorized treatment/drainage systems and natural waterways.

Waste Disposal Method:

Dispose of product in accordance with applicable local, county, state and federal regulations.

 

SECTION IX: SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION


Respiratory Protection: None required if good ventilation is maintained. If high vapor concentrations - use MSA/NIOSH approved respirator with filters designed to remove vapors and particulates.

Eye Protection: Safety glasses, chemical goggles and/or face shields are recommended to safeguard against potential eye contact. Irritation and possible corneal damage.

Other Protection: To prevent repeated or prolonged skin contact, the user should wear impervious clothing and boots.

Ventilation: Provide sufficient mechanical (General) and/or local exhaust ventilation to maintain exposure below TVL(s).

 

SECTION X: SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS


Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storage:

•Keep product containers cool, dry and away from sources of ignition.

•Use and store this product with adequate ventilation.

•Keep product containers closed when not in use.

•Avoid subjecting this product to extreme temperature variations and freezing.

•Launder saturated clothing before wearing.

•Prudent handling practices should be exercised to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Important Information (Personal Safety):

Warning: Proposition 65 (California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1988)

Paints and Coatings, Solvents, Surface Preparation Materials, Patching, Caulking, Spackling and related products may contain detectable traces of various chemicals as unintended contaminants. Some of those chemicals are known to the state of California to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm. In absence of extensive scientific testing and continuous monitoring to demonstrate no significant risk or observable effect resulting from exposure to trace contaminates during normal use of products mentioned above. This warning is provided pursuant to California's Health Code Section 25249.6. 

An asterisk positioned in front of an ingredient signifies a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Warning: Nuisance Dust

When this symbol follows an ingredient, it signifies that the ingredient contains Crystalline Silica, which because it is encapsulated within the embodiment of the product is not in the form of airborne particles of respirable size. However, should the non-volatile portion of this product be removed by dry or mechanical sanding methods, it is important to be aware that the International Association for Cancer Research has classified Crystalline Silica (SC) as probably being carcinogenic for humans (Class 2A). This classification is based on findings of laboratory animal studies that are considered sufficient, and date from epidemiological studies considered limited for carcinogenicity. CS is also a known cause for silicosis, a non-cancerous lung disease. CS has not been classified as a carcinogen by NTP or OSHA. Materials that contain quartz or crystalline silica are: clay, cement, mica and perlite. When the product is ςapplied under normal circumstances, no dust would be encountered. Notwithstanding, the American Conference of Governmental and Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) would classify particulate so generated to be considered a "nuisance

dust" and recommends that a dust respirator (such as a Mine Safety Appliance No. 66 CM073053 type filter) be worn if 10 mg/cubic meter in air is exceeded.
